We receive proposals in early July. We review them during July and August, announcing the winning proposals in the last half of August. We then will issue the award check in early September 2022.
Thank you to all those organizations who submitted proposals for the Latham 2021 Grant program.
Our focus on year was on the first three steps of the Latham Steps in Humane Education.
- Programs that focus on animal-assisted activities that demonstrate people and animals working together for the benefit of both, and include humane education.
- This year, 2021, we are giving priority to programs that include services to the military, veterans and their families.
- Applicants must be U.S. organizations.
Having received funding requests of over five (5) times the available funds – our Grant Committee had a formidable job but was able to identify the those program they found to best exemplify the stated Latham goals.
All organizations have now been notified and thanked for their great works. It is truely inspiring to read about how much good work is being done all around the nation – most often by volunteers working to help the animals and people in their communities.
Latham has compiled a book of kindness messages from this year. We received so many positive comments as we shared them this year, and we hope you will be able to continue to share them with your friends as a reminder we all have ways to help each other and be kind all year. Get yours now –
