Hugh Holbrook Tebault II, the President of The Latham
Foundation for 45 years and a resident of Alameda for
over 87 years passed away Thursday May 10, 2007. Born in
New York City June 21, 1917, he was the only son of a
physician and WWI veteran Dr. Hugh H Tebault Sr. and
Margaret Gwyn Jones Tebault. He was an attendee of
Alameda Public Schools as well as the University of
California. He leaves behind his beloved wife of over 59
years Constance Pollard Tebault, as well as their
children, Hugh H Tebault III and wife Mary, Diane
Tebault, Thomas Tebault, Michelle Tebault and
grandchildren Peter Tebault and wife Rosa, Mary Corbin
and husband Nick, Jacob Wahrer and Joshua Wahrer.
He was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of
Alameda since childhood and served at various times as a
trustee, deacon and elder. A co-founder of Alameda Meals
on Wheels in 1973, he continued to serve as a volunteer
until 2006. He served on the Alameda Planning Board,
the Alameda Grand Jury and the Alameda County Recreation
Commission. He was a WWII veteran in the European
theater and retired as a US Air Force LT Colonel with
over 34 years of service. He then went on to pursue a
career in mortgage banking, serving as a Vice President
of The Lomas and Nettleton Company. After retiring from
Lomas and Nettleton he devoted his full time to The
Latham Foundation.
